Stanford Frontier Technology Lab hosted a lunch salon at the Stanford Faculty Club to explore the critical role of journalism in covering energy and sustainability technology. Guests from both academic and industry backgrounds, including climate tech journalists, engaged in a stimulating discussion.

Led by Stanford Frontier Technology Lab’s Martin Fischer and John Weyant, experts in the field discussed the latest trends in climate tech, the challenges and opportunities of reporting on this complex topic, and how journalists can contribute to driving innovation and change. Discussion topics included:

What are the roles of renewable energy sources, energy efficiency, and carbon capture and storage in achieving sustainability?
What are the challenges and opportunities of reporting on climate tech? How can journalists ensure that their coverage of climate tech is accurate, fair, and balanced?

How can climate tech journalists collaborate with each other and with other stakeholders to create a more informed and engaged public?
