David Hyde

David Hyde, Ph.D.

Dr. David Hyde is a Technical Fellow at Stanford Frontier Technology Lab. Dr. Hyde is a computer scientist and technologist focused on physical simulation, cloud computing, deep learning, and computer graphics. He was first a Regents Scholar at UCSB, earning a B.S. in Mathematics with highest honors at age 19. He then earned a Ph.D. in Computer Science (with Distinction in Teaching) from Stanford, where he was a DoD NDSEG Fellow and a Gerald J. Lieberman Fellow. He also earned M.S. degrees in computer science and computational and mathematical engineering. Most recently, Hyde has been a faculty member in the Department of Mathematics at UCLA, and then a faculty member in the Department of Computer Science at Vanderbilt University. Hyde's research has been supported by organizations including DARPA, the Department of Energy, and the Army Research Lab. Hyde has helped build successful companies in quantum computing, databases, and data science, and invests in private technology companies at Brave Capital.
